Education 3.0
Villa Maria continues to be defined by a future-oriented educational vision.
the pedagogical vision behind the education 3.0 project
Villa Maria continues to be defined by a future-oriented educational vision designed to prepare students for CEGEP, university and the working world, as well as meet the challenges and opportunities for personal growth presented by tomorrow’s society. In the future, our students will likely have access to jobs and technologies that don’t yet exist, and we are determined to prepare them for the challenges they may encounter.
Regardless of the careers our students eventually choose, they will have to constantly adapt to changing conditions. To perform in their respective fields, they will need to develop their ability to learn independently and to communicate, collaborate and create.
We want to help our students develop their critical thinking, resilience and ability to innovate.
That is why we have turned our school into a learning community. Everyone brings to the table their own unique talents and skills and grows by sharing them with each other. Over time, students find their place and gain a better understanding of themselves and their values. Their learning experiences and discoveries will guide them as they define their own personal and professional aspirations.
In our school, technology is an essential learning tool supporting our educational projects.
They are based on three fundamental principles:
- Technology is used to support learning.
- Each student learns differently.
- Learning is most beneficial when students ask questions, experiment and make discoveries.
These principles are bringing about important changes that are leading our teachers to use new types of learning and provide students with the support they need to make the most of them. This is why the Education 3.0 project aims to establish conditions crucial to this change and guide teachers in the use of this techno-pedagogical innovation.

Villa Maria requires all students to have their own iPad, which is key to its technology-enhanced curriculum. To manage them all, tie things together, and activate Apple Classroom here at the School, we are proud to use the MDM Mosyle Manager.
We understand that parents can worry about how much time their children spend on their screens. With the ScreenGuide app, parents can easily manage devices at home. They can set parental controls and configure rules for the safe, educational and fun use of tablets and smartphones, while minimizing potential risks such as cyberbullying, the consumption of inappropriate content and excessive screen time.
